Alternative to the Haitian electoral crisis

Once the best contenders from the opposition in the race Mrs Mirlande Manigat (RDNP) and Michel Martelly (Repons Peyizan) respectively 1st and 3rd according to the latest CEP results that created all the recent riots, act of vandalism and even serious violences leading to the death of more than 4 Haitians citizens and apparent supporters of Michel Martelly, we are certain that we are heading straight towards a crisis or even chaos for the most pessimistic.

Unfortunately, some of our candidates, instead of working harder to bring calm and serenity to the process to avoid further violences, choose to use the voice of the people on the streets as an important leverage.

Realistically, we may find that this is really not appropriate for a 2010 year that has bring only sorrows and trauma to all Haitians, like a cursed year, but we must admit that both government and the International Community only pay serious attention to some leaders on the ground, only according to the masses and the storms they can show on the streets: Common demonstration of power and popularity... It has been a very bad tradition in Haiti for decades... in a Country of NON DROIT the take over of the streets always sound like the best way to show anger and frustrations or even bitterness of the people...

Switzerland: A parasite feeding on Africa and Third world countries?

By Lord Aikins Adusei

For more than half a century the Alpine nation of Switzerland has built a reputation as the world's centre for tax evasion, fraud accounting, money laundering, racketeering, and above all a staunch ally of corrupt third world leaders and a great beneficiary of third world corruption.

Various categories of persons including presidents, prime ministers, corrupt dictators, wealthy business men, drug dealers and members of the clergy have all used and benefited from the banking secrecy laws of Switzerland. As a result her economy has been described as an underground economy, a deposit box for dirty money and a dirt-driven economy.

Over the last couple of years countries such as United States, Germany and France have argued that they have become victims of Swiss illegal financial activities and as result have stepped up their campaign to get Swiss authorities to cooperate in fighting tax evasion and money laundering. The campaign has even brought a row between the German Finance Minister and members of Swiss parliament. These nations claim they are loosing billions of dollars annually through tax evasion and other illegal financial activities. In 2009 an action by the US Justice Department against the Swiss Banking giant UBS earned the United States close to billion. In 2001, the United States learned that the Swiss had protected the bank that handled finances for Osama Bin Laden. One of them, the Bahrain International Bank, had funds transiting through non-published accounts of Clearstream, which has been qualified as a "bank of banks" and was involved in one of Luxembourg's major financial scandals.

Haiti (Ayiti ‘land Of High Mountains’ – Creole)

We rang the bells to herald in the year 2010 hoping that it will a better and more peaceful year that the last, but unfortunately the opposite was true. At the beginning of January we narrowly escaped from a terrorist suicide attack on an airline. Suicide bombings still wracked havoc, death and injury in Pakistan and Iraq.  And climate change was felt in the countries of the Middle East with destructive floods (As usual the Palestinians blamed Israel for flooding Gaza.) Then on January 12 in the early morning hours an earthquake of 7.O magnitude wrecked havoc on the country of Haiti, a catastrophe of major proportions for the Western Hemisphere's poorest nation causing devastation and destruction and heavy loss of life and injury. Over 400,000 of its citizens were made homeless; the infrastructure of the country was destroyed causing the need of relief supplies for the entire citizenry, especially water and the nations of the world from the U.S.A to tiny Israel responded quickly with the needed aid.

The Island of Hispaniola in the Caribbean Sea is today occupied by two independent nations – Haiti and the Dominican Republic; The name Haiti for many years applied to island as a whole until the Spaniards occupied the western part of the island calling it Hispaniola; Subsequently, European diseases and slavery were introduced by the Spanish conquistadors, and the indigenous Arawak peoples were almost wiped out.http://www.worldatlas.com/webimage/countrys/namerica/caribb/ht.htm

Haiti:the Magic Land

HAITI: THE MAGIC LAND

By Alejandro Guevara Onofre

INTRODUCTION

In 1492 Christopher Columbus wrote about Haiti: "The most beautiful in the world". Certainly, Haiti is a wonderful country in the Caribbean. I think that has a special beauty, with a geography and traditional culture that is totally different from all the other countries in Latin America.

Now, this essay is a historical information about Haiti, the first black republic in the modern history and one of the poorest nations on Earth. Each chapter provides details on history, economy, biographies, sport, awards, foreign relations, culture and other important aspects of Haiti. The people that don’t know Haiti very much think that Haiti is only one of the world’s poorest countries, but the Island is known for its traditional culture, hospitality, superstitions, history. Furthermore, Haiti is the home to National Park History, one of the ancient wonders of the world, and renowned women such as Edwidge Danticat and Michaëlle Jean were born there.

Since then, the dictatorships have destroyed Haitian society, economy, ecology and sport. Since 1950, two million Haitian people emigrated to the United States and other countries. Haitian-American arrived from Haiti with nothing more than their clothes. If we compare the Haiti of today to Haiti of thirty years ago, we see a change: a new multiparty democracy. Today, a vast part of the Third World and more than a billion people are under dictatorships.

13th Zodiac Sign Ophiuchus Generates Excitement For Assisted Living Facilities Los Angeles Residents

Astronomers from the Minnesota Planetarium Society have found that because of the moon's gravitational pull on Earth, the alignment of the stars has been pushed back by about a month. According to conjecture, star signs were created some 2,000 years ago by tracking where the sun was in the sky each month. Not to be confused with the science of astronomy, which studies actual planets and stars, the astrologists amongst us concentrate on horoscopes. Horoscopes are determined by the position of the sun on the day you were born and how it lines up with the stars.

"When astrologers say that the sun is in Pisces, it's really not in Pisces," noted Parke Kunkle, a member of the group's board, especially now because of the gravitational pull. A 13th constellation, Ophuchicus, has been added to the Zodiac calendar and most of the dates for the "signs" we've so long associated with our birthdates, have, according to the Minnesota Planetarium Society changed. This has generated excitement and quite a bit of hype for Assisted Living Facilities Los Angeles residents and those in other parts of the nation. Whether or not people believe that Zodiac signs really determine personality traits, the interest generated among my colleagues upon hearing my article topic, confirms that  many people not only know their astrological sign, but they identify with many of the attributes.
